Official report summary is below: "On 02/07/2024 at approximately 0654 hours, Jasmine (redacted) called dispatch to report her (redacted) year old daughter was trampled by a problematic moose that had been in the area. The attack occurred near (redacted) in Palmer while she was preparing to go to school. (redacted). I was assigned the call and spoke with Jasmine. (redacted). I arrived in the area a short time later and observed two moose. It was dark and I couldn't shoot in a safe direction if I needed to take a shot. Neither moose was aggressive at that time. At approximately 0945, I arrived back in the area. I located a cow moose but the cow was acting appropriately by maintaining distance and moving back into a wooded area. I located a second moose that was estimated to be nearly two years old. The moose was agitated and aggressive. The moose approached me without being prompted, raised its hackles, lowered its head and walked toward me in a direct meaningful manner. I shot the moose at approximately 15 yards. The moose was in close proximity of the original attack and had displayed aggressive behavior. I spoke to two neighbors and they confirmed the moose I shot had been showing aggressive behavior over the last month. Given that information, there was a high probability that moose was the one that charged the teenager. A charity responded for the moose. I advised Jasmine and she stated (redacted)."
