On May 17, 2025, Belmar Police responded to an incident at D'Jais Bar and Restaurant regarding a dispute in the entry line. According to the police narrative, officers intervened when a subject allegedly attempted to help another individual sneak into the venue after being denied entry for an expired license. Despite warnings from officers to leave the premises, the subject reportedly refused to comply and continued to argue with staff and police regarding the denial of entry. The confrontation resulted in the subject being taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing. Charges Filed: Defiant Trespass: N.J.S.A. 2C:18-3B1 Disorderly Conduct (Improper Behavior): N.J.S.A. 2C:33-2A1 Interference with Business: Borough Ordinance 16-26 These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide. #drunk #news #belmar
