On September 17, 2023, Barnegat Township Police Officer Bloodgood responded to a motor vehicle accident. The 32-year-old driver of the at-fault vehicle struck a parked car. The police report indicates that Officer Bloodgood could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle. The woman admitted to consuming numerous alcoholic drinks earlier in the day and early evening. As a result, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). The woman admitted that this was her 2nd DWI arrest. Online court records show she was arrested for her first DWI offense less than 5 months prior. The police report indicates she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.13% BAC. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
