An Arkansas State Trooper attempted to stop a black Nissan Sentra for continuously driving in the left lane on Interstate 530. What began as a routine traffic stop quickly escalated when the driver suddenly fled as the trooper approached the vehicle. The pursuit reached speeds exceeding 110 MPH as the driver raced down I-530, passed vehicles on the shoulder, exited the interstate, and continued through rural roads. The chase came to an end when the Nissan lost control, crossed a residential yard, and crashed into a private pond. Both the driver and passenger attempted to escape on foot through the water but were quickly taken into custody. During the investigation, troopers recovered marijuana, promethazine-codeine, prescription amphetamines, and cash from the vehicle and passenger. The driver, Yakiiya Brown, and passenger, Devuntra Sanders, were arrested and booked on multiple felony drug and fleeing charges.
