On January 20, 2026, just after 7:20 p.m., officers were dispatched following a 911 report about a woman driving erratically. Callers stated the vehicle had been weaving through traffic and later came to a stop at an intersection where the driver appeared unresponsive. A concerned motorist approached the car and reported that the woman’s speech was slurred and that she seemed confused. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. According to the arrest affidavit, the driver displayed glassy eyes, an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage, and difficulty maintaining balance. She initially denied consuming alcohol but later mentioned having a glass of wine the previous day. Standardized field sobriety exercises were attempted. The report notes indicators of impairment during the eye test, difficulty following instructions during the walk-and-turn, inability to properly complete the one-leg stand, issues during the finger-to-nose exercise, and problems reciting the alphabet in sequence. She was taken into custody for driving under the influence. After being transported to the breath testing facility, a twenty-minute observation period was conducted. When asked to provide a breath sample, she declined. Implied consent was read to her, she acknowledged understanding, and she again refused testing. At first appearance the following morning, the court determined probable cause and set bond at $1,000 on each charge. Conditions of release included no alcohol or illegal drug use and random weekly testing. Court records show she later posted a surety bond and was released.
