On July 2, 2023, University Heights Police Officer Randall observed a vehicle speeding and almost hit several parked cars. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The female driver was eventually asked to step out of her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs). She was arrested for OVI and submitted to an evidential breath test (EBT). The result was 0.284%. She was cited for operating a vehicle impaired (OVI), having a BAC over 0.17%, speeding, and for a marked lane violation. Without the assistance of an attorney, she pled guilty to all four charges. She was fined $500 plus court costs and ordered to attend a 3-day Driver's Intervention Program. She was also placed on 1 year of probation and her license was suspended for 1 year. She entered into a payment plan, but failed to make the required payments and, as of January 12, 2024, there is an active warrant for her arrest.
