On May 18, 2025, Rio Rancho Police received a call about an intoxicated driver. The caller was the daughter of the woman suspected of driving drunk. Officer Albano located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was a 34-year-old woman who was upset after having a verbal argument with her husband. Officer Roskos arrived on scene and took over the drunk driving investigation. The woman admitted to consuming a glass of wine several hours earlier. Officer Roskos asked the woman to exit her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, the woman was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor (DWI). She was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station, where she refused to submit to a breath test. The refusal escalated her charge to Aggravated DWI. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
