Full Report: On 8/23/2025 I was exiting 285 eastbound at Riverdale Road around 2020 hours when I noticed the black motorcycle with no tag displayed. As the motorcycle turn onto Phoenix Boulevard from Riverdale going westbound I activated my emergency lights and sirens to conduct the traffic stop.Immediately the motorcycle took off at a high rate of speed traveling westbound towards Highway 314. I notified dispatch that I would be in pursuit of that motorcycle. As we crossed over Highway 314 onto Godby Road heading towards old national the motorcycle was almost struck by vehicle after he failed to stop for red light and continued running reaching speeds of 105 mph into College Park. The motorcycle was weaving in and out of traffic as we approached Old National where he made a right going northbound on Old National blowing a red light and again splitting traffic.I continue to pursue the motorcycle northbound on Old National Highway crossing over 285 towards Herschel Road. as we approached the curve on Old National Highway towards Herschel Road. I began to channelized the motorcycle where he was operating bike on the wrong side of the road. While channelizing the motorcycle there was an oncoming vehicle in the curve which forced the rider to maneuver his vehicle towards the grass and a guard rail, where he ended up laying his bike down before surrendering.I took the suspect in custody identified as Jimmie Gurley he was placed under arrest. I asked him was he injured from the fall he stated that he wasn’t but I continued to have an ambulance in route just to check him out. Gurley was cleared from the scene by EMS and was transported to the Clayton county jail for No tag, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, too fast for conditions, speeding 35+, erratic lane change, traffic control device, wrong side on the road, unlawful use of blue lights, and aggressive driving. This event was captured by body and dash cam.
