On June 28, 2025, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a reckless driving call, where people were reporting a truck swerving all over the road. Lieutenant Martinez located the truck, which suddenly pulled off to the side of the road. Lt. Martinez attempted to make contact with the 41-year-old driver, who refused to roll down her window or provide her identification. She initiated a call to her father, asking him to come to the scene to bring her gas. The father showed up quickly and gave Lt. Martinez the woman's name. Several minutes later, Deputy Baca attempted to convince the woman to step out of the vehicle. She still refused, but Deputy Baca was able to open the driver's door and extract the woman from the vehicle. She was handcuffed and placed in the back of Deputy Baca's vehicle. She refused to submit to breath testing and was transported to the hospital for medical clearance, after complaining of a shoulder injury. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
