He followed the car as it turned onto Woodbridge Avenue. Wilson then turned on his emergency lights, and the driver pulled into the White Rose Hamburgers parking lot at 154 Woodbridge Avenue. The driver was identified as Hannah Levy. While speaking with Hannah, Officer Wilson smelled alcohol and noticed other signs of impairment. Hannah began to cry and said she was upset. She also said she had been at Blackthorn in New Brunswick and admitted drinking earlier that night. After Officer Rentenberg of the Metuchen Police Department arrived to help, the officers asked Hannah to leave the vehicle and complete field sobriety tests. Hannah performed poorly on the tests, confirming the officers' concerns. Wilson then arrested her for driving under the influence based on the red-light violation, the smell of alcohol, her admission that she had been drinking at a bar, and her failure to complete the tests satisfactorily. Her car was impounded for a required 12-hour hold under John's Law. Wilson took Hannah to the Highland Park Police Department for processing. At the station, officers read Hannah the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators. She first agreed to provide breath samples but later refused to give enough air after 11 separate attempts. She was then charged with refusal. Processing ended around 4:20 AM, when Hannah was released to a sober adult after she signed the Potential Liability Warning form. Officer Wilson issued Hannah four traffic citations: operating under the influence (39:4-50), refusal to submit to a chemical test (39:4-50.4A), reckless driving (39:4-96), and failure to obey a traffic control device (39:4-81). On June 17, 2025, Hannah pleaded guilty to reckless driving. The other three charges were dismissed under a plea agreement. She paid $240 in fines as a result of the guilty plea.
