On November 9, 2022, Lakewood, Ohio Police Officer Sulieman observed a red Kia travelling without headlights. Officer Sulieman made a quick U-turn in an attempt to stop the Kia. According to the police report, Officer Sulieman approached the vehicle and immediately smelled alcohol on the breath of the 22 year-old female driver. She initially denied consuming any alcohol. She was asked to recite the English alphabet, which she completely butchered. Officer Sulieman had her exit her vehicle to perform field sobriety exercises. Before he could finish explaining the walk and turn test, the driver of the Kia indicated she couldn't do the test because she had been drinking and shouldn't be driving. She was arrested and was taken to the Lakewood jail. She refused to submit to a blood test and was eventually released to a sober adult, but not before her driver's license was confiscated. She was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) and Driving Without Headlights. At court, the OVI charge was amended to operation in willful or wanton disregard for safety. The woman pled guilty to this charge and the driving without headlights charge was dismissed. She was fined $250.00 plus court costs. She also received 4 points on her driving record.
