Sebastian County Deputies were in pursuit of a vehicle however lost sight of the suspect after being reverse rammed. Several Troop H units including Sr Cpl M. Springer (H-13) Trps D. Araujo (H-7), D. Lee (H-15) and Sgt Neiret (H-6) respond and end the chase Trp Araujo's report On May 5, 2020, at 11:18 A.M, I was notified by Troop H Dispatch that Sebastian County was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle in the area of Nickletown. The suspect had already disabled a Sebastian County unit by intentionally ramming it. The driver also brandished a firearm. I started heading that way to assist the county. I spotted the vehicle on Browntown Rd and Bucella Rd. I was northbound on SH-253 behind a number of county units trying to catch up to the vehicle. The vehicle turned onto a dead end road and began driving through private property. The vehicle then traveled eastbound into SH-10 at which time all units lost sight of the suspect. A short time went by before the vehicle was spotted on US-71 near the intersection of SH-10 Spur. The vehicle was driving in the rock quarry next to the US-71 and SH-10 intersection. Sebastian County units and I were able to intercept the vehicle at the rock quarry. The vehicle was traveling toward us therefore we got out of the way. The vehicle then traveled northbound onto US-71. The vehicle then turned onto Cedar Valley Rd. Sebastian County Deputies were in front of me when the suspect slammed on her brakes causing a Sebastian County unit to go into a ditch. I then became the primary unit in the pursuit. While pursuing through a residential area, just as she had done with multiple other pursuing officers, the suspect slammed on her brakes. As a result, I collided with the rear of the suspect vehicle. After the collision, the suspect continued fleeing on Edgewater Dr. before turning onto Lakeside Dr. I yielded to the right and other units took the lead. The suspect turned onto Shadow Lake Dr. before traveling northbound on US-71 Highway. A short time later, a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) was used to end the pursuit. The suspect was then taken into custody.
