In September 2022, the Arkansas State Police engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a grey GMC Sierra on I-40 East near Little Rock. The suspect, who was reportedly armed with a rifle, led troopers on a chase exceeding 110 mph before being stopped by a successful PIT maneuver near mile marker 156. The impact left the driver unresponsive, forcing officers to smash the truck's window to extract him and resulting in a temporary shutdown of the interstate in both directions.
