From the moment he asked for her documents, Aymira was combative, evasive, and visibly intoxicated. After backup arrived, she was asked to perform field sobriety exercises. While she completed the HGN test, she refused the rest and demanded to be taken to the hospital because she was pregnant—only to later decline medical transport. She was arrested and taken to the station, where she also refused to submit a breath test. Aymira Rivera-Torres has a history of run-ins with the law spanning nearly a decade. Her criminal record includes multiple incidents such as a disorderly conduct charge in Long Branch, New Jersey, on March 20, 2022, and a more serious charge of aggravated assault on a police officer in the same city just days earlier, on March 12, 2022. Going back further, she was arrested for simple assault on March 31, 2016, also in Long Branch. Additional offenses include a disorderly conduct charge in Neptune Township dated March 16, 2016, a shoplifting incident in West Long Branch on February 23, 2016, and a hindering apprehension charge in Little Silver on September 14, 2015. Beyond these criminal offenses, Aymira has accumulated a long list of traffic violations as well, particularly for speeding. These citations were issued across multiple New Jersey towns, including Colts Neck, Wall Township, Ocean Township, Marlboro Township, and Oceanport.
