A loud crash caught their ears—a northbound car hit the driver's side mirror of a parked vehicle. They swung into a quick U-turn. Right away, they spotted a parked 2017 Nissan Rogue with a smashed mirror on the driver's side. As they drove north, a white 2015 Honda Pilot came into view. The driver steered toward West Grove Street and Carleton Road, then pulled to the curb. She stepped out, stumbling a bit while trying to fix her passenger side mirror. The officers approached her for a closer look. She turned out to be 23-year-old Abigail Moreno. They noticed damage on her passenger mirror. A sharp smell of alcohol hung on her breath. Abigail said she was driving home and swore she hadn't drunk anything that night. She even bragged about staying sober for six months. Meanwhile, Officer Bace found the Nissan owner and talked to them during the check. The officers suspected she was impaired, so they asked her to do field sobriety tests. After those, they arrested her for driving under the influence. A quick search of her car turned up alcohol in a metal bottle. They towed the vehicle for a required 12-hour hold under John's Law. First, they took Abigail to Westfield for booking. Officer Martinez read her the standard rights for drivers, and she agreed to give breath samples. But the testing machine there didn't work, so they drove her to the Union County Police Department. Her Alcotest showed a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent—almost twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent. After wrapping up the paperwork, they let her go to a sober friend until court. She signed the Potential Liability Warning form too. Abigail got these tickets: Driving under the influence (39:4-50) Reckless driving (39:4-97) Careless driving (39:4-97) Traffic on marked lanes (39:4-88) Failure to report an accident (39:4-130) Leaving the scene of an accident (39:4-129D) Maintenance of lamps (39:3-66) Open container (19:4-51B) 6:14 How does she manage to skip every vowel, besides "E", when reciting the alphabet?!?🤣🤦🏽♂️ If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
