It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: Early on April 27, 2025, Officer Wade McClellan heard a call. A driver was asleep at the wheel. This happened near Shermer Road and Angle Avenue. He found a white Kia Forte stopped in the road. The driver slept, even with the car in drive. Officer McClellan woke the driver. Another officer then put the car in park. The driver was Jennifer Zavala, 21. She told Officer McClellan she was going home. She left a party in Zion. She thought she was still in Zion. However, she was actually in Northbrook. He asked if she drank anything. She admitted to drinking earlier. Officers suspected she was impaired. They asked her to get out and take some tests. Another officer gave her the tests. Her performance confirmed their suspicions. She also mentioned a past DUI arrest. Falling asleep in the road, smelling alcohol, showing impairment signs, and failing tests led to her arrest. Officer McClellan arrested Jennifer for DUI. They handcuffed her and put her in a patrol car. She was taken to the Northbrook Police Department. At the station, they read her the Warning to Motorist. She agreed to a breath test. The test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.142%. This was almost double the legal limit. After processing, she was released. She received summonses for her court date. The charges included: Driving under the influence - alcohol (625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2)) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Over .08 (625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(1)) Reckless Driving (625 ILCS 5/11-503(a)(1)) 5:53 after the officer asks What's going on?
