On August 2, 2025, at approximately 4:29 PM, I, Trooper Nash Thomas, was patrolling northbound on State Highway 1, south of Caraway Road. I observed a motorcycle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. I confirmed the speed using my front radar, which gave a solid tone and lock at 101 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. As the motorcycle approached, the operator momentarily slowed to approximately 80 MPH. I identified the driver as a white male, later confirmed to be Riley McCarthy, DOB 01/19/1996, Arkansas DL# 916855464. I activated my emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. As I turned around to pursue, I heard the motorcycle begin accelerating again. I then activated my siren and began catching up to the motorcycle. Upon reaching the hilltop at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Caraway Road, I observed Mr. McCarthy pass a vehicle where the road narrowed from two lanes to one. As I gained on him, he passed two more vehicles on the shoulder, confirming an active attempt to flee. The pursuit continued northbound through the Harrisburg Road intersection at speeds exceeding 100 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Mr. McCarthy repeatedly passed vehicles on the shoulder, displaying a clear disregard for public safety. Approaching the intersection of Stadium Blvd (Highway 1) and Parker Road, a vehicle turned northbound onto Stadium from Sunny Meadow. Mr. McCarthy nearly rear-ended this vehicle due to his excessive speed, then proceeded through a red light at Parker Road without stopping. As we continued north over the overpass, the road transitioned into Red Wolf Blvd. Despite increasing traffic volume, Mr. McCarthy continued to operate recklessly. Approaching Highland Drive, he attempted to turn eastbound but was traveling too fast to maintain his lane. He maneuvered between westbound traffic stopped at the red light, then entered the oncoming lanes near Brazos, weaving between vehicles in the inside lane and left-turn lane. Mr. McCarthy then accelerated eastbound on Highland Drive, reaching approximately 100 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone. Approaching Watt Street, he attempted to turn right but was traveling too fast to execute the turn safely, nearly striking a vehicle stopped at the Watt Street stop sign. He entered a concrete lot off Watt Street, just south of Highland. I blocked his attempt to re-enter the roadway. Mr. McCarthy then veered left through the lot into a grassy field. I maneuvered to block him again, at which point he lost control at a low speed and laid the motorcycle down on its side. Mr. McCarthy immediately complied by exiting the motorcycle and lying on the ground with his arms outstretched. I placed him into custody without further incident. K.E.G. Towing was called to recover the motorcycle. I transported Mr. McCarthy to the Craighead County Detention Center, where he was booked on the following charges: Fleeing – Substantial Risk of Death Reckless Driving – 1st Offense Speeding – More than 15 MPH Over the Limit Driving with DWI-Suspended License No Interlock Device No Liability Insurance Motorcycle – Improper Operation / No Certificate follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lrhn_caash/ 😎 follow me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61564018231627 😎 follow me on twitter https://x.com/LRHN_Cash ✨😎 follow me on tiktok https://www.tiktok.com/@lrhncaash?_t=8fvtVaP3a9u&_r=1 😎✨ Follow me on twitch https://www.twitch.tv/lrhn_cash 🥶 Follow me on Snapchat https://snapchat.com/t/SbtgTt7z 😎 #lrhncash #lrhn #policechase
