Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 1:52 a.m. on February 7, 2025, Hoboken Police Officer Ronald Kibitlewski saw a 2023 Subaru pass a construction roadblock. The driver sideswiped a parked construction vehicle, then struck a fire hydrant outside 460 Newark Street. Kibitlewski told her to stop and asked for her ID. She was later identified as 23-year-old Basma. As they spoke, he noticed signs that she might be drunk or high. Officer Cynthia Rivera arrived to check whether Basma was impaired. She began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, then gave Basma the Walk and Turn test. Basma failed to touch her heel to her toe and took too few steps. During the final test, the One Leg Stand, she did not raise her foot properly and put it down before the test ended. After the crash, the signs of impairment, and her poor test results, Basma was arrested for driving under the influence. Her car was impounded for 12 hours under John's Law. Police took her to the Port Authority Police Department station in Weehawken for further processing. Her passenger went to the hospital for an evaluation. At the station, Basma was read her rights and agreed to take a breath test. The result showed a blood alcohol level of 0.18%, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08%.
