FEMALE Cop FIRED After Arresting An Innocent Man In Florida On May 9th, 2023, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA, Ryan Gould from Illinois was swimming at his apartment pool at the Sabal Ridge community when a heated dispute erupted with neighbor Anna Ivanova. When Ivanova's husband Benedetto Salvia arrived and lifted his shirt to reveal a firearm tucked in his waistband, Mr. Gould immediately called 911 for help as the victim of a crime. Officer Bethany Guerrero of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department responded and approached Mr. Gould in the parking lot. Despite Mr. Gould repeatedly identifying himself as the victim who called 911 for help, Officer Guerrero ordered him to keep his hands out of his pockets. When Mr. Gould reached for his cell phone to show her he was not the armed individual, Officer Guerrero pointed her firearm directly at the unarmed man in a swimsuit, ordered him to the ground, and had him arrested for resisting. Bodycam footage and surveillance video clearly show Mr. Gould backing away with his hands clearly at his sides when the officer drew her weapon. Officer Guerrero was so panicked that she had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance after her heart rate spiked and she complained of chest pains. Mr. Gould was transported to jail and charged with resisting arrest. However, hours later, Sergeant Dennis Beath reviewed the surveillance footage and immediately ordered Mr. Gould's release before he was even processed. No criminal charges were ever filed against the victim. Mr. Salvia was later charged with Improper Exhibition of a Firearm under Florida law and participated in a pretrial diversion program, having the charge dismissed after completing gun safety and anger management classes. On August 25th, 2023, Officer Bethany Guerrero was FIRED after an internal affairs investigation found she violated multiple department policies on conduct, courtesy, and response to resistance. She had served with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department for over 19 years and earned $101,000 annually. The incident gained national attention and went viral across USA news outlets. However, in August 2024, a third-party arbitrator ordered the city to REINSTATE Officer Guerrero, ruling that her conduct warranted serious discipline but not termination. She returned to duty WITHOUT back pay. Then in June 2025, a federal appeals court upheld the dismissal of Mr. Gould's civil rights lawsuit against the officer, stating she told him three times to keep his hands out of his pockets and he refused to comply. Mr. Gould, who moved back to Chicago, Illinois after this ordeal, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit accusing Officer Guerrero of excessive force and false imprisonment. Despite the lawsuit being dismissed, Mr. Gould has been vocal in calling for police reform and higher accountability standards in law enforcement agencies across the USA. This case highlights critical constitutional principles including Terry stops, de facto arrests, reasonable suspicion versus probable cause, Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable seizures, and what constitutes lawful police conduct during encounters with citizens in the United States of America. The case also demonstrates the arbitration process that allows terminated officers to get their jobs back even after clear policy violations. This video is brought to you for educational purposes, commentary, news reporting, and public awareness about constitutional rights, police accountability, and civil liberties in the USA.
