Law enforcement was dispatched to Target on May 25, 2024, to assist the store's loss prevention team with two uncooperative suspects they had detained. The situation required police intervention specifically because the pair had steadfastly refused to reveal their identities to security personnel. Although one of the women attempted to cooperate by offering her ID once officers were on the scene, that gesture came after the window of opportunity had closed. As a result, both individuals were taken into custody, driven to the station, and booked on charges related to shoplifting. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty
