In this incident from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, officers initiated a traffic stop on a black Jeep Cherokee due to an expired registration and an obstructed windshield. The driver was found to have a suspended license, prompting officers to call for a tow truck. The situation deteriorated when the female driver entered her vehicle, locked the doors, and refused repeated commands to step out. While officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, the driver grabbed a butterfly-style knife and began cutting her own legs. Officers immediately breached the vehicle to prevent further self-harm, leading to a violent physical struggle. During the altercation, the driver actively resisted, attempting to bite and kick multiple officers. After being placed in handcuffs, the suspect continued to resist and spat directly into an officer's face and chest. The driver was subsequently transported for medical and psychiatric treatment before facing severe criminal charges including aggravated assault on police. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
