Deputies responded after a motorist called 911 to report a road-rage encounter involving a white hatchback. According to the report, the caller said the vehicle had been following closely behind her while repeatedly flashing its bright headlights. The caller also reported the car began swerving behind her and described the driver as acting belligerent. Based on the interaction, the caller believed the driver might be impaired. Officers located the vehicle and followed it for a short period to observe its driving. During that time the car moved into a turn lane and pulled over. When deputies made contact with the driver, the report states they observed signs of possible impairment and began a DUI investigation. Field sobriety exercises were conducted and the driver was later taken into custody. She was arrested and booked on charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a breath test. After spending time in custody, bond was posted and she was released. Court records show the case was filed as a criminal traffic matter and remains active in the court system.
