On June 28, 2025, at around 9:45 p.m., Corporal Michael Stringer was refueling his patrol vehicle at the 7-Eleven in the 9400 block of SE Baseline Road. A store clerk approached him at the pump and advised that someone had stolen cases of beer from the store, which was recorded on his dash camera. Corporal Stringer saw the vehicle leaving the parking lot and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver, Jaitai Williams (DOB: 06/21/1994), refused to stop and fled onto Southeast 92nd Loop. After a short pursuit, Corporal Stringer stopped the vehicle by executing a successful PIT maneuver. He removed Williams from the vehicle and detained her. While Corporal Stringer was arresting Williams, the front-seat passenger, Raymond Myrick (DOB: 02/17/1977), threw several items containing drugs out of the vehicle. He was also detained. A field test of the drugs revealed that they contained THC, cocaine, and fentanyl. The back-seat passenger, Steven Hogan (DOB: 08/16/2005), was also detained, and further investigation revealed that he was the individual who stole from the store. The three cases of Modelo were located near where he had been sitting. Williams was charged with Fleeing to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer. Myrick was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Hogan was charged with Retail Petit Theft. They were all placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.
