On September 22, 2024, around 02:34 AM in Del Norte County, California Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a white Chevrolet Equinox for no license plate lights after it passed them on Elk Valley Road near Cooke Street. The SUV turned onto Elk Valley Cross Road and was making a left onto Cunningham Road when the officers caught up with the SUV. The driver, Rocky Dowd, refused to stop and continued driving through Florence Keller Park Campground eventually stopping the SUV in front of space 22 where the driver Rocky Dowd was arrested and transported and booked into the Del Norte County Jail on the following charges: 14601.1(A) - Drive While License Suspended 2800.1(A) - Evading Peace Officer #police #camping #chp #pursuit
