On October 4, 2023, Las Cruces, New Mexico police officers responded to a call involving 18-year-old Daijah Cano. What began as a welfare concern quickly escalated into one of the most intense bodycam arrests you’ll see online. This disturbing police bodycam video shows Cano screaming, refusing to exit the vehicle, and physically resisting officers during a chaotic confrontation outside an Extended Stay America hotel. Despite multiple attempts to calm her down, officers were forced to use a full-body restraint. The emotional meltdown was both heartbreaking and unsettling to watch, highlighting the challenges law enforcement faces when encountering individuals experiencing what appears to be a severe mental or emotional crisis. Cano was charged with resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer, concealing identity, and obstruction. However, a month later, the case was dropped by prosecutors. Just days after the dismissal, a warrant was issued when she failed to appear in court for a separate restraint charge. This bodycam footage is part of our ongoing mission to show unfiltered real crime stories. Watch as police attempt de-escalation, the struggle intensifies, and Daijah Cano ultimately loses control.
