🎥 In today's copyrighted documentary, we report on an incident that occurred in Roswell, New Mexico on April 17, 2025. Just after 1:00 AM, a Roswell Police Department employee called her sergeant to report that her ex-boyfriend — a fellow RPD officer named Thomas Troy — was banging on the door and ringing the doorbell of her new boyfriend's home and refusing to leave. According to surveillance video and the responding sergeant, Troy had been at the door for nearly 20 minutes by the time officers arrived, and only stopped knocking when a patrol vehicle pulled up. The police report states he had driven to the residence off-duty in his police unit. When Sergeant Trevis Reese approached him, Troy volunteered — unprompted — that he had placed an Apple AirTag inside his ex-girlfriend's gym bag without her consent, and that the address he had shown up to was one of the locations the AirTag had previously logged. The victim later confirmed to officers that she had discovered the device on December 6, 2024, slit into the lining of her gym bag, after her phone repeatedly alerted her to an unknown tracker. After being read his Miranda rights, Troy admitted on camera that he had used the AirTag's logged locations to help identify the address, and that he had not been invited to the residence. Court records show Troy was booked into jail on criminal charges. Facing termination, Thomas Troy resigned from the Roswell Police Department in May 2025. Prosecutors later dismissed the criminal charges, and Troy was not convicted of any crime in this case. The full story is in the documentary.
