A man reported to police that a blond woman shot a moose possibly from the road and it may be undersized. An Alaksa Wildlife Trooper responded and determined the bull was of legal size based on the hunter's specific permit. The Trooper returned in the daylight and found two 300 Win Mag casings in the road where the moose was shot. The hunter confirmed that she was using a 300 Win Mag but could not recall where her fist few shots were taken from. Nobody in her group could say where she started shooting from either. It was determined that the moose was shot from the road illegally. The hunter was charged with shooting on/from/across a roadway and plead no contest. She was ordered to pay $320 in fines and fees.
