On October 9, 2024, Dona Ana County Sheriff's Deputies observed a naked man pleasuring himself in public. The man refused commands to stop. Eventually, he was tackled and taken down to the ground. However, before he could be handcuffed, he was able to get back up. At this point, he was tased and he dropped immediately to the ground, suffering a large laceration to his face. EMS personnel transported the man to the hospital, where he underwent 3 hours of medical treatment before being booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
