On May 24, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officers received a call about a possibly intoxicated driver throwing alcoholic beverage containers out her car window. Officer Salido located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was being driven by a 65-yar-old woman, who admitted to consuming alcohol approximately 30 minutes prior to being pulled over. Officer Salido asked the woman to exit her vehicle in order to perform field sobriety tests. After the tests, the woman was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence. During an inventory search of her vehicle, open containers of alcohol were discovered, which led officers to believe the woman was drinking alcohol while she was driving. She was taken to the Rio Rancho Police Station, where she refused to provide breath samples. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
