On February 17, 2025, Lakewood Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a woman passed out in her vehicle. Officer Mullen arrived to find the engine still running and the driver's door unlocked. He opened the door to find a 33-year-old woman unconscious and breathing. He had to perform a sternum rub on the woman's chest area in order to get her to wake up. The woman was very confused and became angry and combative. The police report indicates that Officer Mullen could smell alcohol coming from the woman's breath. The woman was instructed to exit the vehicle, which she refused multiple times. Once she was finally assisted out of the vehicle, a plastic bag with a white powder residue was discovered. Officers recognized this to be suspected narcotics. The woman was placed in handcuffs until EMS arrived to evaluate her. Because of her suspected drug and alcohol use, she was transported to the hospital. She was ultimately arrested for Having Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Having an Open Container of Alcohol. On July 28, 2025, she pleaded guilty to an amended charge of Having Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence. All of the original charges were dismissed. She was fined $395 and placed on probation. She failed to report to probation and there is currently an active warrant for her arrest. The police report also indicates that she had prior Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI) convictions in 2013 and 2017. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
