When officers located him near 2nd Avenue and Dennison Avenue, they ordered him to stop and show his hands. Instead, Jones reportedly shouted “Kill me,” pulled a concealed weapon, and opened fire. A SWAT officer returned fire, striking Jones. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until medics arrived. Jones was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
