A 20-year-old woman from Cuyahoga Falls is now in custody after leading police from Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, and Silver Lake on a dangerous chase Thursday afternoon through their jurisdictions. The woman, facing numerous charges, collided with a police cruiser and caused at least two other crashes during the pursuit. According to Stow police, calls came in just before 1 p.m. reporting a reckless driver on Kent Road near Holy Family Church. Witnesses informed police that the woman was driving on the wrong side of the road and "nearly caused multiple crashes." As police responded, additional calls described the same vehicle driving on the wrong side of Graham Road into oncoming traffic. Despite attempts to stop the car, the driver continued west through Silver Lake and circled back into Stow. Stow police stated, "While it was initially suspected that the driver may have been suffering from a medical condition, after actively avoiding attempts to block it in, it became apparent that the suspect was intentionally fleeing from officers." The pursuit then extended into Cuyahoga Falls, where Stow officers handed over the chase to Cuyahoga Falls police. Meanwhile, Stow police deployed Stop Sticks to puncture the car's tires at Graham Road and Hudson Drive. Although the Stop Sticks were effective, the driver persisted in fleeing on flat tires, returning into Stow, heading north on Hudson Drive, and then east on East Steels Corners Road, where the car collided with a Stow police cruiser. ⚠️Note: Footage from this video was obtained via the Ohio Public Records Act (R.C. 149.43) All persons featured on the channel are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
