On the 22nd of September 2022, in the Bingleburra area, 3 people became trapped in flood waters around 9:30 AM. Senior Constable Richard Hansen from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District located the vehicle in chest-deep water. The two women and a young boy were in the water, trying to save themselves. Caught on body-worn-camera video Senior Constable Hansen is seen going into the flooded rushing water three times in total, bringing them to safety. Before Hansen is seen hopping into the water, he placed his body-worn camera on the Police vehicle, the reason for capturing the incident encase he doesn't survive. After the trio escaped, Hansen tried more by going into the water with a winch to attempt to retrieve the flooded vehicle, with no success. Sometime later, NSW Paramedics arrived and treated the incident's victims with shock; no one was injured. (Source) NSW Police Media Release
