On October 3, 2024, at approximately 2158 hours, a deputy was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Palm Coast Parkway and US-1 in Palm Coast, Florida. The deputy observed a white motorcycle traveling southbound on US-1 at a high rate of speed, pacing the motorcycle at 80 MPH in a 60 MPH zone while operating a marked patrol vehicle. As the motorcycle approached the intersection of US-1 and White View Parkway, the traffic signal turned steady red. The motorcycle entered the turn lane and began to reduce speed, prompting the deputy to activate emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop just north of the intersection. Before the motorcycle came to a complete stop, the traffic signal changed from steady red to a flashing yellow arrow. The motorcycle then made a left turn onto White View Parkway, heading eastbound, traveling between 40 MPH and 45 MPH while the operator raised his left arm. The deputy activated the emergency siren, using various tones. The motorcycle continued southbound on Rolling Sands Drive, then made an immediate left turn onto Rockefeller Drive, traveling eastbound at approximately 20 MPH. It subsequently made a right turn onto Rocking Lane, where it traveled at around 26 MPH before making a left turn into a driveway, where it finally came to a stop. Upon contacting the driver, the deputy issued clear commands for him to get on the ground. The driver physically resisted and attempted to get up, failing to comply with multiple commands. The driver expressed defiance, and despite attempts to gain control of his hands, he continued to resist. Eventually, the deputy secured both hands and placed the driver in handcuffs. As the deputy attempted to escort him to the patrol vehicle, the driver became combative, necessitating minimal force to bring him to the ground until additional deputies arrived for assistance. The driver was then secured in the rear of the patrol vehicle. Identification revealed the driver had a suspended Florida driver’s license. After being read his rights, he acknowledged awareness of law enforcement presence and claimed he was signaling his intentions with hand gestures. He stated his intent was to go to his girlfriend's house and assess the situation. He further remarked that he did not stop due to the dark street and believed he could stop wherever he wanted. When asked about his speed on US-1, he admitted to going 80 MPH, responding to the deputy's observation. The driver declined medical treatment and showed no visible injuries. The driver was informed of his license suspension and issued citations for no proper endorsement, speeding, failure to obey, and resisting without violence. #bodycam #police #cops #bwc #policebodycamera #copcam #copcar #arrest #arrested #bwc #policechase The individuals featured in these videos are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
