On January 12th, 2024, police responded to a theft in progress at a Family Dollar Store, where they confronted Avery, a woman accused of shoplifting. Despite initially denying the allegations and becoming agitated, Avery attempted to leave the store, leading to a physical altercation with the officers. After being restrained, a search revealed stolen items hidden under her clothing. Avery was subsequently charged with retail theft, resisting arrest, and obstructing a police officer.
