On March 2, 2025, Lakewood Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a drunk woman unable to care for herself. Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old woman sitting in the front yard of a random house. Officers tried to communicate with the woman, but her level of intoxication made her incoherent. Because the outside temperature was below freezing, officers decided to take the woman into custody so that she could sober up safely. As she was being placed into the back of the police vehicle, she attempted to kick one of the officers, landing her an assault on a police officer charge. Her case is still open. Her next court date is August 13, 2025. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
