Grand Avenue. When officers arrived, the victim identified the suspect, who immediately fled on foot. During the chase along a nearby bike path, one of the officers observed the man manipulating an object in his hand. The suspect then turned toward the officer with what appeared to be a handgun. In response, the officer opened fire, striking the man multiple times. Officers rendered immediate medical aid, and the suspect — later identified as 34-year-old Antonio Rosales — was transported to a local hospital, where he remains under medical care. Rosales is facing charges of assault on a peace officer.
