Westerville Police say Brendon Conklin was arrested on January 21, 2024, after allegedly impersonating a police officer, using red and blue lights to pull someone over, and later detaining a victim while posing as law enforcement. Earlier that same day, officers encountered Conklin wearing police-style gear and driving a vehicle outfitted with flashing lights — but he wasn’t arrested until new information came in. According to investigators, Conklin even flagged down a Columbus police cruiser, flashed a badge, and claimed he was “off-duty.” Officers grew suspicious and later discovered his vehicle was registered to a nonprofit he created, the Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Program, which listed Columbus Police Headquarters as its address. This video breaks down the full timeline of the Westerville, Ohio police impersonation case — from the first encounter, to the false badge presentation, to the final arrest and charges.
