During a routine patrol, a police officer observed a male suspect screaming and aggressively kicking parking sign equipment until it broke apart. When the officer activated their emergency lights and ordered the individual to stop, the suspect responded with profanity and fled on foot. Following a pursuit, the suspect ducked into an alleyway, dug into his backpack, and hurled the heavy bag directly at the pursuing officer. The officer drew a taser, prompting the suspect to momentarily surrender and be placed in handcuffs. The struggle continued as officers attempted to escort the suspect to a patrol vehicle. The individual dropped his body weight to go completely limp and then physically battered an officer by wrapping his legs around them. Officers were forced to use a violent prisoner restraint device after the suspect additionally attempted to kick another officer in the face. The heavily intoxicated suspect admitted to drinking multiple alcoholic beverages prior to the chaos These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
