On December 3rd, 2025, Tyler Texas police responded to a shocking double homicide at a local dental office after a disgruntled patient opened fire on two doctors. 75-year-old Dr. Jack Burroughs and 59-year-old Dr. Blake Sinclair were both shot and killed by 40-year-old Steven Alexander Smith — a military veteran who had been a patient at the practice for over a year. Witnesses say Smith stormed out after an argument over his dentures, retrieved a firearm from his truck, and returned to shoot both men. SWAT surrounded his home miles away before his own parents convinced him to surrender. Officers later discovered Smith was wearing body armor and had multiple firearms inside his bedroom.
