It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On January 3, 2025, at around 8:40 PM, Officer Nicholas Losurdo from the Hoboken Police saw a car parked illegally on Sinatra Drive. The vehicle was blocking traffic, so he activated his siren to get the driver to move. The driver didn’t respond. When Officer Losurdo got out of his patrol car, he saw that the driver was asleep behind the wheel. He made contact and identified her as Eileny. Officer Losurdo noticed her eyes looked watery and bloodshot. She showed other signs of being impaired. She told him she was waiting for her boyfriend but refused to cooperate or share her ID. Officer Roberto Cuevas and Officer Alyssa Rivera arrived to help with field sobriety tests. Officer Cuevas started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. Next, they tried the Walk and Turn test. Eileny refused to cooperate and began making excuses why she couldn’t do the tests. Eventually, Officer Cuevas stopped trying to get her to finish. Because of her signs of impairment and her refusal to complete the tests, she was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Her vehicle was impounded for 12 hours under John’s Law. The officers took her to the Hoboken Police Department for processing. At the station, she was told her rights, but she refused to give breath samples. Records showed she has several past arrests for DWI and other crimes. Due to her history, she is not allowed to drive without an ignition interlock device. Eileny was cited for multiple offenses, including operating under the influence, refusing to give breath samples, reckless driving, and driving slowly to block traffic. She was also cited for refusing to install an interlock device. Additionally, she was ticketed for illegal parking under Ordinance 190-03. She was later released to a sober adult until her court date. Court records show her multiple DWI arrests happened in different towns. In Fairview on August 11, 2021. In Union City on July 30, 2020. Again in Union City on December 29, 2019. In Fort Lee on June 21, 2019. And in West New York on August 4, 2018.
