On June 7, 2025, California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a reckless driver on Highway 99 in Modesto, California. When CHP officers caught up to the driver and attempted a traffic stop the female driver refused to pull over. CHP units chased using lights, sirens and their PA system as the driver drifted between lanes, slowed unexpectedly, and failed to yield. After nearly 13 minutes, the driver finally came to a stop on the shoulder. Officers conducted a roadside evaluation and determined she did not meet arrest criteria, but she was issued a citation, released and given a DMV Notice of Priority Reexamination, requiring her to undergo a formal review of her driving ability at the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
