A trip to a T-Mobile store resulted in a police investigation after an employee became concerned about a customer's behavior. The employee reported that the woman appeared impaired, had difficulty keeping her balance, and repeatedly dropped her belongings. By the time deputies arrived, she had returned to her vehicle in the parking lot. As a deputy approached in his patrol car, the woman began reversing and nearly backed into him. During their conversation, the deputy noticed several signs of possible alcohol impairment, including an odor of alcohol coming from her vehicle and an empty cup that he believed had contained alcohol. The woman denied drinking and repeatedly questioned why she was being detained. The encounter grew increasingly argumentative as deputies attempted to explain the investigation. Despite being told she was not free to leave, the woman continued trying to walk away. Deputies eventually placed her under arrest after she resisted their attempts to restrain her. Her objections continued during the ride to jail, where she repeatedly insisted she had not been driving and challenged the deputies over their decision to arrest her. Although deputies suspected alcohol impairment, she was not charged with DUI. She was convicted of resisting an officer without violence and sentenced to time served. The arrest also resulted in a violation of probation stemming from an earlier reckless driving case that had originally involved a DUI charge. The court permitted her to continue probation with additional alcohol-monitoring requirements. Both criminal cases are listed as closed, but her probation remains active through June 2027. #bodycam #police #cops #bwc #policebodycamera #copcam #copcar #arrest #arrested #bwc Disclaimer: All individuals featured are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
