On March 29, 2023, a citizen called the Roswell police department to report an erratic driver. Officer Speights located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver admitted to taking a prescribed medication that can affect one's ability to drive. The woman, a nurse at the local hospital, who is well known to the police officers, was asked to perform field sobriety tests (FSTs). Upon completion of the FSTs, the officers mute their body cameras, presumably to discuss what to do with the woman. She was arrested and transported to the Roswell police station. She consented to a blood draw and was then transported to the hospital, where she was consoled by other nurses. While enroute back to the police station, Officer Speights tries to get the woman to open up about her perceived problems.
