FULL REPORT: On 4/9/24 at approximately 1330 hours, I received a BOLO from the Clayton County Communications Center of a Dodge Durango, being used by the suspect after an Aggravated Assault (Person Shot) later turned homicide, incident in Atlanta, Georgia. I was in the area of Forest Parkway and Highway 42, when I heard over the radio that a Forest Park Police Department Officer observed the vehicle leaving the QuikTrip Gas Station on Forest Parkway. The Forest Park Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop, which the aforementioned vehicle failed to stop. I observed the vehicle turn right onto Highway 42, traveling northbound. I positioned my patrol vehicle directly behind the aforementioned vehicle and activated the blue lights and sirens on my patrol vehicle. While on Highway 42, the vehicle reached speeds of 90 miles per hour. The vehicle traveled on the wrong side of the road, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. The vehicle then crossed back over in the right lane of travel briefly, before entering the wrong side of the road again, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of travel. Let it be noted, I traveled on the northbound lanes at all times. The vehicle turned left onto Thurman Road, which the vehicle traveled at speeds of 90 miles per hour. At one point, the vehicle almost caused a collision with an unknown, yellow, Chevrolet Cobalt. The vehicle traveled on the wrong side of the road multiple times, passing vehicles. The vehicle turned left onto Jonesboro Road, and struck the concrete median. The vehicle then traveled at speeds up to 120 miles per hour. While the vehicle was on Jonesboro Road, near Cleveland Avenue, I attempted to conduct a Precision Immobilization Technique. I terminated the Precision Immobilization Technique due to oncoming traffic. At this time, the Georgia State Patrol gained lead in the pursuit. The driver continued to flee on Jonesboro Road, which the vehicle traveled around a curve and he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to crash in the woods near 2267 Jonesboro Road, Atlanta, Georgia. Once the vehicle stopped, I approached the vehicle with other law enforcement officers, with my duty firearm un-holstered. Verbal commands were issued, which the suspect, lowered the front passenger’s window. Once the door was opened, verbal commands were issued to the suspect to show his hands. While I was standing at the door, I heard a noise, which I observed the driver of the vehicles head begin to slump over and blood began coming from his head area.  My investigation was recorded by my Axon body and dash camera.
