On Friday, June 17, 2022, deputies with a Florida sheriff's office responded to a reported battery at a McDonald's in Navarre. The incident began as a road rage altercation, after which the suspect, driving a white SUV, followed the victim into the restaurant's parking lot. The suspect exited his vehicle, approached the victim's car, and after a brief verbal exchange, reached through the open driver's window and punched the victim in the face. The victim sustained injuries, including a bloody nose and a red, swollen face, and was treated on the scene by EMS. Deputies located the suspect in an adjacent parking lot. When a deputy attempted to place the suspect under arrest, he became agitated, tensed up, and pulled his arm away, walking forward and ignoring several commands to stop resisting. Force was applied to gain compliance and successfully handcuff the suspect. The suspect was arrested and charged with Burglary with Battery and Resisting an Officer Without Violence.
