BONUS BODYCAM FOOTAGE STARTS AROUND 10:00 On July 27th, 2023, officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) were conducting water patrol near Peanut Island within the Palm Beach Inlet. They spotted a personal watercraft (PWC) operating in a designated slow speed/swimming zone. Despite signaling the PWC to stop with lights and sirens, the operator ignored them and eventually beached the PWC on the island's east side. Upon approaching the operator, identified as [REDACTED], along with assistance from his companions, the officers persuaded him to come to their vessel to discuss the speed violation. However, during the interaction, [REDACTED]'s demeanor fluctuated between calmness and agitation. When informed about the violation and a warning for lacking the necessary boater ID, [REDACTED] became increasingly hostile, resorting to profanity and threats towards the officers. Despite attempts to defuse the situation, [REDACTED] escalated matters by becoming physically aggressive, pounding his fists on the patrol vessel and issuing threats. In response to the escalating situation, the officers decided to arrest [REDACTED] for disorderly conduct. Subduing him proved challenging, and they awaited backup from Palm Beach County Sheriff (PBSO) marine units. With PBSO's assistance, [REDACTED] was escorted to the water-taxi dock on Peanut Island's east side, while one officer moved the patrol vessel to facilitate his transfer. [REDACTED] was then transported to Rybovich Marina, where he was met by two land units. From there, he was taken to Gun Club Main Jail and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest without violence, violating slow speed regulations around Peanut Island, and operating a vessel without a boater ID card, thereby violating boat education laws.
