Police received a 911 call of a drive-by shooting in the city's southeast side around 2:00 a.m. Officers spotted a vehicle and a man matching the description and tried to pull the driver over but he refused to stop. A pursuit began until officers lost the car near Western Ave. near SW44th. An officer found the vehicle near SW 45th and Agnew and said the driver came out, pulled out a rifle, and began shooting at police. Officers returned fire before the man ran away and barricaded himself in an apartment complex. After several hours, SWAT officers arrived and the man gave himself up.
