Moncks Corner, South Carolina — On June 14, 2025, just after 2:30 a.m., Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office were conducting a traffic stop near the intersection of South Live Oak Drive and Wildwood Lane when they detained a driver suspected of DUI. While the deputies were standing just steps away from their patrol vehicle, a second impaired driver collided with the vehicle. The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to investigate the crash and has since charged 32-year-old Lauren Michelle Skinner with Transporting Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle with a Broken Seal, Driving Under Suspension – Second Offense and Driving Under the Influence – Second Offense. Skinner received a total bond of $4,527.50.
