On December 16th, 2023, officers in Florida responded to an incident outside a bar involving a woman leaving a bar with an open container. The suspect was walking with a red alcoholic beverage in a clear cup, which she refused to hand over when asked by officers. As the officers attempted to take the beverage, the suspect threw it on the ground and resisted arrest. The situation escalated as she began to kick the marked police cruiser and the officers involved. During the arrest, the suspect actively resisted while in handcuffs. She kicked and hooked the right leg of one officer, making it difficult to control her. Another officer had to intervene, placing a foot between the suspect's feet to facilitate the search. Despite these efforts, the suspect continued to resist, kicking another officer’s right leg and eventually kicking the window of the police cruiser. The struggle continued as the officers attempted to use departmental spray to subdue the suspect, who kicked an officer's right hand in response. The suspect’s persistent resistance and violent behavior towards the officers led to her being taken to the ground and restrained.
